Compared to my pregnancy with
Matylda, everything had been going really well this time around. I wasn't near as sick, no fertility problems, I was working (but still taking it easy) and I was starting to think this time would be different. I thought too soon. There is a silver lining though, because I knew something was not right, I think we caught everything early enough this time that I won't spend weeks and weeks on bed rest.
I spent Thursday in the hospital with contractions and severe cramping. I am one day shy of 26 weeks. All of my early labor woes began at 26 weeks with Matylda. The doctor was thinking maybe I was just overdoing it with work and activities with Maty, but as they monitored me, it became very apparent I was having real contractions. They brought in the "devil" shot I remember having with Matylda that makes you feel like your heart is going to beat out of your chest and the waiting game began. Everything calmed down and I was released Thursday evening. No work for me yesterday (Friday) or Monday and I'm taking it easy this weekend. I go back to my doctor on Monday. As of now, it looks like I will be back on procardia and taking weekly progesterone shots. I was so hoping that everything would be "normal" this time, but that just isn't my body's plan. I am so blessed to be able to have kids, my body just doesn't know the right way to do it.
I will do whatever I have to do - just like with Matylda-to make sure we have another healthy, full-term baby girl.
